Thanks again Bob, for an excellent course! I too would like to advocate for the slides and/or the videos to be downloadable. There are a lot of links and it would help to be able to click on them and sift through them fast.

  2. Bob,

Thank you so much for your time and expertise in teaching us the DAP system. It would have been very dificult and time consuming for me to have tried to go through all the instructional videos on my own and learn how to properly install and implement it in such a short period of time. I also know that your previous learnings and mistakes helped save us all time (translate: money and frustration) and got us up to speed much faster than trying to learn it all on our own.

Because the course modules were laid out in a very organized fashion with slides, videos and audio, it made it easy for each of us to learn in our own preferred style and allowed for easy access to go back and listen to it over again or if we missed a module for some reason. The homework you gave us was very relevant to the course and offered practical “hands on” experience in actually setting up the DAP system to integrate with WordPress. Having access to ask you questions directly on the call was very valuable, as were the additional resources you provided.

The DAP system offers me exciting opportunities to build and grow a successful and profitable online business and I am very thankful that you offered this training course. I enjoyed the course and your teaching method/style and look forward to more courses, resources and information from you.

Thank you for a great course and great training!

    Hey Bob,

Great course! It was way better than I was expecting and covered much more than I anticipated! I was expecting it to be primarily about installation and setup of DAP and that turned out to be only a small part of what you taught us! The “non-DAP” content was every bit as valuable, if not more valuable, because it showed us how to effectively utilize DAP by understanding what kind of things DAP could be used for in addition to the obvious.

I’m looking forward to taking more classes from you in the future!

    Thanks!
    Brad

    Hey Bob,

I would still very much like to see at the very least a PDF of your slides from each of the classes included. It is very challenging to correctly capture notes all of the details and nuances while watching live, or even going back through and watching the videos again. Things like URLs, field values, etc. are something that could be added to the PDF from screen shots taken from the video. That would add a huge amount of confidence in my ability to get it right the second time I install and configure DAP or try to configure some aspect of it that I haven’t done for a while.

I look forward to seeing the PDF or even better, the transcripts!

    Thanks!
    Brad

    Hi Bob,

At the end of Module 5 you said you would cover OTOs in DAP with the add-on.

Did I miss something, or did you not cover that after all?

By the way, in case you haven’t seen it, I wrote my comments about slides and transcripts on the Account page under Ann’s and Sheri’s.

    Thanks again,
    Paul

P.S. When and where will there be details about the upgrade for anyone wanting to have continued access to the videos etc.?

    Hi Bob-
I thought there was suppose to be a mind-map of this at the end. Did i miss it or mis-read?

Also, is there a wp plugin to upload Flip videos so i don’t have to use Youtube?

    • Anita Johnson

      Hi Jonathan,

This is in response to your comment on 4/9 in Module 5 and your question “is there a wp plugin to upload Flip videos so i don’t have to use Youtube?”

Not sure if this will help, but have you tried searching the Plugins for “embed video”? There are over a hundred to choose from and Bob specifically mentioned “Embed Iframe”. While I don’t use Flip, I found that the plugin worked great for me (although I was uploading Camtasia videos).

Also, have you tried either of the built-in ways to upload videos found in the Edit Post area?

If you’re embedding a video inside of a Post, when you’re in Visual mode, there are two places where you can upload a video. Above the toolbar there’s “Upload/Insert” and you would choose the second icon. The other way to upload videos is to use click the “Kitchen Sink” icon (the last one on the toolbar that starts with the B [for bold]. When you click the “Kitchen Sink” icon, a second toolbar appears and you would use the seventh link, “Insert/edit embedded media”.

When I used both of these options to upload newly created Camtasia videos (which were stored on my hard drive), I kept getting a message that either my Flash needed to be updated (which it already was) or my Java was disabled (which it wasn’t). After several frustrating hours of testing, I went ahead and got the “Embed Iframe” plugin that Bob recommends in this training, uploaded my videos to Amazon S3 and everything worked like a charm.

And here’s an example of the code you’ll need for “Embed Iframe” to make your video appear:

[iframe URL 640 480] where URL is the location of where you stored the video and 640 is the width (or whatever number you find works best for you) and 480 is the height (or whatever number you find works best for you).

      Does that helps?

Hi Anita. Thank you. I couldn’t find Embeded Iframe, but installed Bubblecast Video for wp. I think it’ll work ok.

    Hi Bob,
I think you’re one of the better teachers out there, and i like your stuff. I just wish we could have had something we could refer to after the course – even though you broke it down, that’s a lot of info! And unless you had your content/course material ready to go, there’s no way a low tech newbie could keep up and actually implement /build a membership sight in pase with your course.

Any chance you’ll change your mind about giving us material we can refer back to?

    Hi Bob,

Back on March 29, 2010 back in the Module 2 comments you said

“I’ll be giving you the DiscoverDAP mindmap, as promised, during Module 4 or 5.”

I can’t seem to locate it. Please let me know where to find it via Email.

    Thanks!

  9. Jonathan Smith

Anyone know where the mindmaps are?
Anyone know if Bob decided to give us slides or pdfs?

    • Hey Jonathan,
THe mindmap is now in Module 5 as a bonus, and the slides for each module are on each module’s page below the audio.

Also, the transcripts for the entire set of modules is available for an upgrade.

      Bob

Interesting course, lots of practical how to. The expert call was kind of fluffy but still had a few nuggets. As far as DAP I think the drip feature has real stick potential to capture/hold members attention if implemented correctly.

Lots of info to swallow- your best advice probably is to act now revise later.

I do have a curiosity question – why choose to put a timestamp (but no date) on the comments left by members?

One .02 comment for you – I think a members forum attached to each specific class would provide more information sharing among members and increase overall course knowledge.

    Thanks

    Eric
