But as time wore on, I found myself enjoying our ad-hoc discussions about current events and finance much more than the scripted curriculum and standardized tests.
In early 2006, I had no real list and no sales of any products of my own, In fact, my very first internet marketing webpages were Squidoo lenses in March of that year. Since then, I’ve grown my online information business to over $300,000 in revenue over the last 12 months, about half of which has been profit.
Over 20,000 people have learned from me and the dozen or so websites I’ve created. I’m very proud of what I’ve accomplished over the last two years, but I’ll be the first to admit it was hard work (it still is).
How did I do it?
Well, after a lot of trial and error, I opened up to the same kind of training from mentors that I’m going to share with you now.

First, in April 2006, one of my very first lenses was featured in the New York Times in a technology article – just 4 weeks after I learned about Squidoo from my mentor, Paulie Sabol. (link)
Second, I’ve been able to achieve front page Google Search Engine Results on Squidoo. Sometimes, I’m even the number one listing for keywords that are important to my business.
For example, if you Google the term “best network marketing companies,” one of my Squidoo lenses is #1, and has been for months (go ahead and click the link above to see for yourself – it will open in a new window. If I’m not #1, as of this moment, you’ll still find me near the top).
I don’t know about you, but being #1 out of almost 100 million search results feels pretty good.
