I know what you’re thinking: are teleseminars really doable for me? Is there really a simple method for getting more customers and clients that gets me the results I need – and fast – without costing an arm and a leg?
The results of my business, and those I’ve taught this formula to, are proof that such a system does exist. And in fact, I’m going to teach it to you right now.
But first, let me share how I discovered this formula over the course of 15 months, and how you can learn it all in just a few hours of focused study (yes – you do have to learn something new – But I promise it will be totally worth it!).
Do you feel like that now? I can certainly feel that pain!
Back in 2005, I was teaching history to over 120 high school students every day. My job was rewarding, but financially I continued to dig deeper into debt. No matter how many odd jobs I tried, there was always more bills to pay than what I was being paid.
So I started looking for ways to make extra money using the internet. Each method I tried relied on me paying for advertising. In fact, I spent over $4000 in Adwords in order to generate $1000 in revenue.
My math skills told me that was no way to run a business!
As a teacher myself, I understood that it would be a better idea for me to ask for help. Maybe I could learn from other people’s mistakes instead of having to make them all myself.
The first thing my mentors taught me was to stop chasing after business opportunities, and instead turn what I knew into information products. They said I could stop paying for leads, and eventually “earn money while I sleep.”
Because of my debt growing, I had begun relying on free advertising to generate leads for my business. At my mentor’s suggestion, I began writing an ebook that would reveal the top 15 advertising tools I was using to generate leads without spending any more money.
Trust me, I was by no means an expert!
But I had learned enough to have a solution to a big problem faced by many other people.
And when I released the “Free Ad Report: The Best Advertising Money Can’t Buy” – it was a big hit. Within the first month of publishing that report (and giving it away for free), I had made an extra $1000!
The trouble was, it had taken me over 3 months to write the report and get it published online. I wondered if there was a faster way to grow without spending a lot more money.
If you have ever started (and hopefully completed) writing an ebook or planned some other type of information product, you recognize that it often takes a lot longer to finish than you thought.
And if you’re like I was back in 2006, you probably can’t wait 3 months to start generating more revenue for your business.
You need results like yesterday!
That’s what I felt like in September of 2006 when I learned about teleseminars. Sure, I had listened to calls before (network marketing “opportunity calls” were very familiar to me by then), but never thought I would have the know-how or credibility to do them myself.
And of course, there was the fear that I’d have trouble learning and paying for the technology to do my own calls.
But again my mentors pushed me to go forward with this particular tactic and see the proof in the pudding.
At a live event, I partnered up with a group of guys to form a mastermind team. We agreed to do teleseminars together and see what would happen.
My first interview was pretty weird. I was nervous I would screw up. Wondered if anybody would be on the call. Hoped my friend Dan would be able to delivery the goods.
We talked about making mini-websites for a little over an hour. He and I were joined by 3 other people I think. At the end of the call, I thanked Dan for sharing his lessons with me and my audience, and suggested that those listen should check out Dan’s website.
A few minutes later, I got an email from Dan telling me I had earned $73.50 already because one of the 3 people listening had purchased his video series after listening to our call.
Wow – it worked!
But this was just the beginning. Over the next 7 months, I was able to turn this one call into over $12,000 in revenue. And unlike most businesses where you only get to keep about 10-20% of revenue, I got to keep well over half of the money!
Of course there was more to making the $12,000 then holding a conversation. After all – if it was that easy, everybody would be doing it, right?
Notice, I didn’t make a fortune on the call itself. How could I when there were only 3 people on the call listening?
Thanks to the advice of my mentors, and even from what I learned interviewing Dan on that first call, I created a product from that first call.
And even though it was my first call, filled with mistakes, umms and ahhs and all that…
… I still followed what I was told to create a product.
The first part of the product was the audio itself. By remembering to press record at the start of my call, I had an MP3 file that others could listen to from any computer. But I didn’t stop there.
I also paid someone to transcribe the call. This was great because I was still teaching, remember, so a few days later it was done. I didn’t have to sit around listening to myself over and over again – that would have taken forever!
Plus, it was a lot less than I thought it would be (under $100), and within a week I had a second product – the PDF transcripts.
I put up a website giving away the transcripts for free, and selling the audio as an “upsell”.
Before I go further here, though, let me make sure you didn’t miss the big point….
It took me over 3 months to create my first product (that free advertising report), and only a week to create my second!
Once my website was set up, giving away the transcripts and selling the audio, my income started to grow.
And it grew faster than I thought it would because of something else I learned to do from my mentors: connect the product to an affiliate program.
So I set up my site to run both as a membership site and as an affiliate program. At the time, this was pretty expensive to do. That particular software I used was over $1000 with the 3-payment plan. But now, that software is essentially free (I’ll tell you where to get it, and how to use it, later).
With my own affiliate program in place, I now had my free and paying customers driving traffic to my website for me. The only time I paid them was if they made a sale as an affiliate. This means no upfront advertising costs at all!
This turned into a multiple-streams of income site. That one call was generating income in many different ways:
Sales of the audio upsell ($17 each)
Sales of Dan’s Gold membership ($73.50 in commissions for each sale)
Affiliate commissions from website hosting account referrals ($50 each)
Other affiliate commissions from recommendations I was able to make to my new “list” of subscribers
Plus they were pre-qualified buyers for my next product I released a month later!
My classroom duties kept me pretty busy that fall, but as I began to understand the true power of this formula, my business continued to grow.
To put it even simpler, here are the exact 9 steps I took…
Find a good product or service that people need to know about, that I knew really well
Sign up as an affiliate of that product or service
Hold a teleseminar about that product with or without the creator/vendor
Record the call and have it transcribed
Create a website where I give away part of the call, and sell the full package
Connect my website to an affiliate program
Have people (strangers really) around the world promoting my new information product
Make money from sales of the product, back end commissions from my affiliate relationship to the original product.
Use the cash flow to reinvest in my business while paying down debts
And the cool part was as I did this more and more, it became easier and easier to do.
Sometimes it worked like gangbusters, sometimes results kind of trickled in.
But each and every time I used this Teleseminar Formula, my list grew quicker, my profits increased steadily, and while other people crashed and burned, I became an internet marketing rockstar.

And truthfully, this is the exact system I use, and have been using now for over 2 years.
